The International Bamboo and Rattan Organisation (INBAR) is a multilateral development organisation that supports its 43 Member States to include bamboo and rattan in their sustainable development action plans and green economy strategies. We promote innovative ways of using bamboo and rattan to improve rural livelihoods, protect the environment, and address climate change and issues of international trade and standards.
National Forestry and Grassland Administration (NFGA) is in charge of national forestry affairs, as well as wetlands. The NFGA is responsible for organising, coordinating, and supervising ecological construction, desertification prevention, afforestation and other relevant work in the forestry sector dealing with climate change and the protection of biodiversity.
The International Centre for Bamboo and Rattan (ICBR) is a non-profit research institution under the State Forestry and Grassland Administration of China. ICBR's main responsibilities and tasks are: to launch scientific research in bamboo and rattan for better resource conservation, development and utilisation; to carry out international cooperation and exchanges in related fields for INBAR member countries; to train senior professionals by disciplinary and personnel development; to publicise scientific R&D and technological services and promote the use of the products to speed up the bamboo industry's development; and to provide logistical support to INBAR Headquarters.
